Presented by Ausdance WA,Act-Belong-Commit Try Dance Week Open Classes are a week of FREE afternoon and evening dance classes offered in a range of styles during Mental Health Week  Monday 7thOctober – Friday 12thOctober 2018.

Mental health affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.

Mental health is not just the absence of illness, but also the ability to maintain relationships, cope with stress, contribute to the community and enjoy life, therefore it includes your emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing.

Act-Belong-Commit Try Dance Open Classes is a great way to assist with keeping mentally healthy and is just as important as staying physically healthy.

Being active, having a sense of belonging and having a purpose in life all contribute to happiness, good mental health and stronger communities.

The A-B-C guidelines for positive mental health provide a simple approach to help you become more mentally healthy:


Keep active in as many ways as you can -physically, socially, mentally, culturally and spiritually.


Keep connected to friends and family; get involved in groups, join in local community activities.


Commit to a cause; become a volunteer; learn a new skill; or take up a challenge yourself.
