Artists to Mentor South Coast’s Young People in ‘A Light Shade of Red’

Young people will have the chance to learn from some of the south coast’s finest creative minds in a major new production A Light Shade of Red from Denmark choreographer Annette Carmichael.

Award-winning dance artist and creative producer Anette Carmichael is seeking young men and women to be involved in A Light Shade of Red, a dance production scheduled to hit the Albany Entertainment Centre main stage this October.

“We need 10 young men and 10 young women aged between 16 and 26 to collaborate with our creative team,” Annette says. “No previous dance experience is required; you just need to be able to run and get up and down off the floor.”

Workshops and rehearsals will take place in Denmark and Albany from July to October, and are scheduled outside business hours.

There are also opportunities to learn photography and film production from award-winning photographer Nic Duncan and filmmaker Robert Castiglione, and lighting and stage management traineeships with the entertainment centre team.
