Call Out: Dance Teacher for New Project in the Goldfields – Esperance Region

Dance teacher with a sense of adventure and a taste for new and invigorating projects wanted for communities in the Goldfields – Esperance Region.

Ravensthorpe Regional Arts Council (RRAC) wish to host a dance teacher and artist in residence to engage communities in the Goldfields – Esperance Region in dance classes, workshops and informal performances in Term 4 2017.

RRAC will be engaging the surrounding communities through classes in six schools and community classes: Hopetoun, Ravensthorpe, Jerramungup, Munglinup, Jerdacuttup and Lake King.

By forging a partnership with schools, as well as providing community classes, RRAC is making dance accessible to everyone in the communities.

Our resident dance teacher will also be supported by and mentor local artists and teachers who wish to extend their dance capabilities. The resident dance artist will work with selected locals in each town to encourage participation and upskilling in various forms.

RRAC is recruiting a dance teacher for a 5-week residency during October – November 2017.

This residency is part of the scoping for the Regional Arts Partnership Program Contemporary Dance Project supported by the Departments of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Infrastructure and Regional Development and Country Arts WA. It is anticipated that the full dance artist in residence program will commence in 2018 and conclude in 2019.

Fees, travel, accommodation and living away from home allowances will be paid in accordance with the Performers’ Collective Agreement terms and conditions.

Applications close Friday 15 September 2017.
