Celebrating the individuals making our sector flourish.

Since 1977, Ausdance has been the leading advocate for the dance sector in Australia. Each year, Ausdance WA celebrates the achievements in the dance sector in Western Australia by hosting the West Australian Dance Awards.

The West Australian Dance Awards were initiated by Ausdance WA in 2005 and are an opportunity to acknowledge outstanding achievement in performance, choreography, production, teaching, design, community dance, youth dance –from all regions in our vast state.

The period of eligibility spans July 1 to June 30 and nominations are open throughout this whole period. The winner of each award category is automatically nominated by Ausdance WA for the Australian Dance Awards, where corresponding categories for both events exist.

After July 31, the committee of judges who are selected by Ausdance WA, convene to create a nomination short-list which is made public through the Ausdance WA e-news. From the short-list, the judges then select the winners.
