Annette Carmichael Projects present A Light Shade of Red with The Beauty Index at Albany Entertainment Centre on Friday October 19 and Saturday October 20, 7pm-9pm.
Humanity’s vulnerability and beauty, explored through dance, 100 years after the Armistice. The Beauty Index is a performance of strength and visual poetry created with men from the Great Southern, which performed to sell-out crowds and critical acclaim at Denmark’s Brave New Works Festival in 2017 and was shortlisted for an Australian Dance Award. It will be remounted at the AEC alongside A Light Shade of Red – a new dance work that holds us in the liminal space between past and future. Saturated in colour, this performance from young people aged 16-26 years captures their emotional state as a heady mix of hope and anxiety, peace-filled plenty and individual challenge.
