Did you know that dance has physical, mental and social benefits for people living with Parkinson’s disease? Plus it’s a lot of fun!
Dance for Parkinson’s is an uplifting dance class for people living with Parkinson’s disease, that emphasises dancing for dancing’s sake.
Our professional teachers encourage participants to explore different styles of dance in chairs, standing up or moving across the floor. The movement is designed specifically for people living with Parkinson’s disease and focuses on posture, coordination, balance and gait.
The class is suitable for a range of ages and mobility. The environment is fun and pressure free with the aim to enrich and empower participants.
Anyone affected by Parkinson’s disease is welcome to attend these classes (no dance experience necessary) for $10 per class. Carers, partners and friends, are welcome to participate in these classes at no additional cost.
Classes will take place at DADAA at the Fremantle Old Boy’s School (92 Adelaide St, Fremantle) from 1.00-2.00pm. Participants are invited to join us for tea and coffee from 12.30pm.
Classes will run on the following days in 2018 from 1.00-2.00pm:
