William Forsythe is one of the world’s most visionary choreographers. His practice extends from dance through to architecture, visual arts, and installation. His choreography sits in the repertoire of most of the world’s larger ballet and contemporary dance companies.

Since 2014, STRUT has been working with the methodology and repertoire of Forsythe as a one of our key choreographic training models, enabling more than 175 Australian artists to profit from this exclusive three-year partnership.

This will now culminate in the performance of Forsythe’s seminal work “One Flat Thing, Reproduced” in The Courtyard of the State Theatre Centre of WA – April 2017.

This is the first time the work will be presented outside of a major company context on a cohort of 14 of independent dance artists selected from across STRUT’s Forsythe program. Situated in The Courtyard as an innovative space activation, the value add will be a significant capacity build in audiences for contemporary dance in WA.

This world first event will be aligned to WA’s Black Swan State Theatre Company’s premiere season of Michael Gow’s Once in Royal David City.
