Ginny is a girl stuck in romantic ideals of 1930s films. Let’s be honest, she thinks she’s Ginger Rogers. Amber is a girl struggling with modern day dating rules and her own awkwardness.
Through comical interactions and divulgence of failed love stories, physicalized through a dynamic dance movement language, these two characters and their opposing ideas on dating etiquette take us on a pursuit of the perfect equation for romance. Do the timing and amount of words in a text message affect the reciprocity of good feelings after a first date? How do you project a perfectly polished version of yourself when you carry emotional baggage in the form of big squishy tomatoes? And why on earth does Amber have to become awkward in the simple act of sharing popcorn?! These are questions our characters will try, stubbornly, to answer.
We hope these girls can realize that they are their own worst enemies in love, but it will take some outside help. The solution to both of their romantic woes might be the same, and it might have been directly in front of them from the start…
