SMV’s Culture Box on Beaufort features two works:
Recall is an introspective journey that uses dance to experiment with everyday sensations, common and mundane experiences taken onto a level of presentation, and the norm of stage presentation is stripped down to its skeletal construction, where questions and doubts reveal new direction. Concept and direction by Internationally acclaimed award winning choreographer,Umesh Shetty.
HeartSong is an opportunity for us to explore the deepest recesses of our heart space. Celebrate love through the soothing notes of Hindustani classical music, on this special day. An up and coming vocalist from India, Ravindra-Parchure will take you on a intimate journey of soul-stirring music.
These shows will be complemented by “night market style” laneway food and fun stalls within the external areas of the venue. In addition to exciting multicultural food, expect community oriented workshops (Brazilian Capoeira Roda, African Djembe Circles, Chinese lion dance, Bollywood fun) and a really cool community wall mural project.
