Thursday 28/9 & Friday 29/9
6:00 – 7:15pm: Level 1
7:15 – 8:30pm: Level 2
Saturday 30/9 & Sunday 1/10
11:00 – 12:00pm: Beginners
12:00 – 1:15pm: Level 1
1:30 – 2:30pm: Danza Estilizada
2:30 – 3:45pm: Level 2
Beginners:
Basic level of technique & understanding required
Level 1: Alegria
Participants should have a moderate technique, a fair knowledge of Spanish Dance, an understanding of compass and be able to pick up fairly easily.
Danza Estilizada technique:
Open level. Participants should have a sound to solid technique. Castanets may be used.
Level 2: Tientos
Participants should have a solid technique and compas, sound knowledge of Spanish Dance and be able to learn at a good pace.

MIGUEL ANGEL ESPINO (FLAMENCO AND DANZA ESTILIZADA TECHNIQUE)
“Miguel Angel Espino commenced his dance training his dance studies with Federico Casado ‘Caracolillo’ whom he considers his true teacher. At 16 years old he joined the ballet Nacional de España where he worked for 5 years becoming a soloist. Whilst in the company he performed in the wonderful choreographies of Antonio, José Granero, Alberto Lorca and Mariemma. His professional career then took him off to many parts of the world as leading dancer in festivals, theatres and operas. He has performed with numerous well-known dancers such as Joaquin Ruiz, Lola Greco, Antonio Canales, Javier Barón and Elvira Andrés. He formed his own company Miguel Ángel España Ballets and choreographed several works for it. He worked extensively with the late choreographer Rafael Aguilar and besides being the lead male dancer he was manager of the company. In 1987 he was awarded the ‘Premio Navicella’ (artistic activity to dance) and in 1992 the ‘Leonide Massine al Merito en la Danza’, both in Italy. He has worked as a guest teacher for the Spanish Dance Society on many occasions in the Uk, Italy, Greece and Malta. His clear teaching and patience was appreciated by all the participants who all agreed that his classes were fantastic! Participants at the workshop will undoubtedly benefit from his tuition.” – Spanish Dance Society
