Ausdance WA is facilitating the creation of a set of industry guidelines in relation to pay rates for dance teachers in Western Australia. We invite stakeholders and interested parties from all areas of the industry, to form the DTP (Dance Teacher Pay) Committee.
The DTP Committee will meet regularly on a Monday afternoon until a pay rate guideline is created. The pay rate guideline will be informed from other industry guidelines, ie:
- Regional Arts Recommended rates of pay
- Live Performance Award (Previously Equity Awards for dancers)
- Fitness Industry Award 2019
- Fair Work Commission – Minimum wage by industry (Teaching: Primary/Secondary/ Tertiary levels.
The guidelines will also take into account teacher qualifications, experience and education.
