Fights and Flights celebrates the way that life-at its richest and most satisfying-is made up of incredible battles and immense achievements. Simply, that difficult fights, may lead to beautiful flights..
Through dance, theatre and Kung Fu, Fights and Flights weaves together stories of the deepest darkness and the brightest light. 65 performers aged 7 to 30 will bring you a beautiful, terrifying and thrilling roller coaster ride of flights and fights, their intimate truths and epic universalities.
STEPS Youth Dance Company celebrates 25 years of empowering young West Australian contemporary dancers. Choreographed and led by the vision of Artistic Director Alice Lee Holland, and featuring a huge list of STEPS alumni including James O’Hara (Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui) and Sofie Burgoyne (Frantic Assembly, Henri Oguike Company).
Fights and Flights is the ultimate culmination of STEPS’ 25-year history and commemorates the milestone, demonstrating West Australian dance theatre excellence.
The community of Ausdance WA acknowledges the Traditional Owners of all Lands and Countries on this continent. We pay particular respect to Elders, Cultural and Community Leaders, and emerging leaders.
