Set Solo
Workshop 2026
Exploring the
Originally commissioned for the 2009 and 2011 ATAR Dance curriculum, the 2026 Set Solo will be Olympics choreographed by Danielle Micich. To support high quality and detailed delivery in the classroom, this hands-on workshop offers a deep dive into the solo material, designed specifically for teachers already familiar with the work. Alongside reintroducing the choreography, the focus will be on refining how educators teach and communicate its nuances, unpacking the solo’s physicality, intention, and dramaturgical layers.
Led by Danielle Micich herself, the session will be collaborative and practical. Teachers will work directly with Danielle, using the reference video as a guide while exploring movement detail, performance quality, and choreographic interpretation. Danielle will provide real-time feedback, answer questions, and support teachers in translating the solo’s complexity into classroom practice.
The workshop will also include an overview of Danielle’s broader body of work, including most recently as Artistic Director and CEO of Force Majeure in Sydney NSW, and a discussion on the role of dramaturgy and storytelling in contemporary dance theatre.
