Hundreds of eggshells will fill Bunbury’s Convent Gallery when performance artist Annette Carmichael moves in with her delicate travelling companions this March. The Denmark based dancer, choreographer and creative producer will be performing alongside the empty shells at Bunbury Regional Art Galleries, where her joint exhibition, The Index, opens on Friday 9 March 2018.
The Index combines elements of dance, photography, music and sculpture and sees Annette join up with a talented clutch of south coast artists to explore notions of harmony and disruption.
Award winning photographer Nic Duncan has taken a series of photographs of Annette in a variety of environments, with spaces of regeneration and industry delineated by Kevin Draper’s distinctive black and white sculptures.
Works by textile artist Janine McCrum and James Gentle’s haunting musical soundscape complement the images.
The exhibition runs from March 10-April 15. Annette Carmichael will be performing live in the space at 11am and 1pm on the following dates:

Viewers can come and go throughout the performance, which lasts approximately 30 to 45 min.
