Presented by Ausdance WA, Act-Belong Commit and MRA and supported by The City of Perth, DANCE DAY is the official launch event to celebrate Australian Dance Week in Western Australia. For the first time in 2017, Ausdance WA will combine two of their largest annual events to present one HUGE day of dance.
Saturday 29th April at James Street Amphitheatre, Perth Cultural Centre
Dance Live Performance: 3pm – 5pm
Trigger: 5pm – 9pm
Offering a suite of exciting free opportunities to engage with dance through watching, joining in and creating your own #dancegrabs, Dance Day is sure to get you up and grooving. The fabulous DANCE LIVE performance extravaganza is an iconic Ausdance WA event and showcases multiple dance styles and performers of all ages. This is a vibrant multicultural family-focussed event that will delight audiences from all walks of life. The curated stage performance from 3pm – 5pm will feature more than 15 performance groups as well offering a workshop during interval and a live drumming finale for all to join in and celebrate!
In the evening, the focus will shift off stage and we welcome you to gather beneath the big screen for TRIGGER. Essentially an outdoor dance-karaoke jam, TRGGER let’s you nominate the playlist and uses interactive software to project your grooving body live onto the LED screen in a variety of animated forms. Featuring live flash-mob performances from Perth’s urban dance community, we encourage trained and untrained bodies to get up and dance to your favourite tunes under the stars.
