Ausdance WA is delighted to announce the appointment of Gary Hodge as the new Chair of the Board.
Gary brings extensive experience in leadership, strategic planning, and a deep commitment to fostering cultural and community initiatives. His impressive career spans both private and government sectors, with a strong focus on health and wellbeing, the arts, and community development.
Gary’s contributions to the arts include chairing Two Dance Plus and Buzz Dance Theatre, highlighting his dedication to supporting contemporary dance in Western Australia. His work extends beyond the arts, encompassing roles in education, transport, and environmental projects, as well as global neuroscience research committees.
In community volunteering, Gary has been instrumental in establishing the Balingup Arts and Cultural Hub, overseeing projects that employed over 100 professional artists, and spearheading innovative programs such as the feasibility study for zero-emissions trains on the South West railway line.
We extend a warm welcome to Gary on behalf of the Ausdance WA Board, team, and members, and look forward to his leadership in shaping the organisation’s future.
We also take this opportunity to thank outgoing Chair Simon Owen for his exceptional dedication and guidance since joining Ausdance WA in 2016. Simon’s tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on the organisation, and we are deeply grateful for his contributions.
Stay tuned for updates as Ausdance WA continues to thrive under Gary’s stewardship.
