APRA AMCOS and PPCA will be launching a new initiative next year called the OneMusic Licence. APRA AMCOS is currently looking for input from the dance community about how this new OneMusic Licence initiative will affect music licensing for the dance sector.

In terms of music licensing, most dance schools in the country have done the right thing and sought the right permission to use music in their business. The permission comes in the form of a licence- one from APRA AMCOS to cover the rights of songwriters, composers and publishers and one from PPCA to cover the recording artists and the record label. The new OneMusic Licence will mean that businesses can just buy ONE licence ONLINE simplifying the process and avoiding the usual confusion over what licensing.
