Members have very recently learned that the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries has increased the studio hire rate at King Street Arts Centre (KSAC), effective from 1 July.  During December 2017, members were advised that, with the shift of studio booking management to the Perth Theatre Trust at the commencement of 2018, there would be a review of the studio hire rates, that the new rates would come into effect on 1 July, from when the discounted rate for Ausdance WA members would not be offered. We were advised that the new rates for Ausdance WA members would be “commensurate with” the then current rate.  The recent release of the new, increased rates has come as a surprise to us, and our members.

It is very regrettable that we were not able to advise members on the significant rate increase in advance.  The fact of the matter is that we received the information at the same time as members were notified.

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries have issued the following apology:
DLGSC apologise for the late notice on the rate increases which we understand have inconvenienced some hirers. If you have any questions in relation to the changes made please email ksac@ptt.wa.gov.au

As your membership organisation, we accept that it is our responsibility to keep you informed on matters that may impact upon your dance activities. It is part of our role to support you and the hundreds of dancers who participate in activities at the King Street Arts Centre studios every week.  We will make every effort to ensure timely communications regarding and changes to terms and conditions of hire of the studios in the future.
